Kick My Bucket List

6 Ideal Tropical Vacation Spots

Since we’re in the middle of an unusually cold winter in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s only natural to dream of someplace sunny and warm. Here are 6 of the best tropical vacation spots to add to your bucket list!

Bora Bora

When you picture the ideal tropical beach, it probably looks something like Bora Bora. The lagoon is clear and impossibly blue, while the craggy extinct volcano reaches toward the sky. Stay in one of the iconic bungalows right on the beach for a truly unique experience.

Maldives

The atolls of the Maldives, location in the Indian Ocean, are almost too beautiful to be real. It’s one of the best places in the world for surfing, swimming, and snorkeling. You can even swim with giant manta rays or whale sharks in the Maldives!

Hawaii

Wouldn’t it be lovely if everyone had the chance to visit Hawaii at least once? The islands offer breathtaking natural beauty and vibrant culture. Make seeing Kauai and Oahu your top priority if you want to get away from the crowds.

Bali

No list of tropical vacation spots would be complete without Bali. The Indonesian paradise is famous for natural beauty as well as its incredible temples. At the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, you can wander through one of the temples and interact with the local–and very cheeky–macaque monkeys.

Grenada

This gorgeous island in the Caribbean isn’t the most popular hotspot, but that means you’ll be able to enjoy a little tropical bliss without the crowds.  You can find a growing number of ecotourism-friendly resorts in the area around the capital city of St. George.

Fiji

The archipelago of Fiji offers hundreds of islands–though only a third of them are inhabited. You could stay in the popular tourist towns of Mamanuca or Viti Levu, but there are plenty of less well-known areas where you can experience unspoiled beaches.
