Go Paragliding Over the Breathtaking Town of Interlaken, Switzerland

What’s the most perfect fairytale setting you can dream up? Are there enchanted amidst towering mountains? Are there magical, romantic lakes vibrant with color? Or maybe adorable talking animals living in a sea of flowers?

The fairytale town of Interlaken, Switzerland is real. And absolutely must fully experience this magical town by paragliding over it. Paragliding is an activity emblematic of Interlaken, along with many of the other adventures you can go on in the Swiss town.

Devastatingly gorgeous views

Seeing Switzerland from a bird’s eye view is unforgettable and quite an adrenaline rush. After your guide straps you in, you both run and takeoff, emerging through the forested mountain valley. Then the landscape opens up and suddenly you’re up high above bright aqua lakes.

Views from up high among the Swiss Alps are majestic. The bustling town of Interlaken sits quietly below. A snow-dusted Jungfrau Mountain is off in the distance and it’s surreal to approach it from the sky.

How to book and tips for safety

A paraglide can be booked through one of several local adventure companies, such as Swiss Paragliding & Adventure. The once in a lifetime experience costs 160 Swiss francs and up, which equates to roughly the same amount of US dollars.

Make sure to fly with an instructor if you’re a newcomer to paragliding. Flying solo requires a license and extensive training. Pay close attention during the safety briefing of your trip, and check behind your instructor to make sure you’re properly harnessed. Paraglides typically have a weight limit of around 220 pounds.
