Reasons Why New Zealand Should Be Your Next Travel Destination

New Zealand is a destination like none other. Although this isn’t the cheapest vacation destination, a New Zealand vacation will definitely be one of the most memorable trips of your lifetime.

If New Zealand is not on your travel list, it is about time that you put it on there. Here’s why!

The Awe-Inspiring Scenery

Look, New Zealand wasn’t chosen as the filming location for The Lord of the Rings for nothing. The sheer beauty of the landscape is reason enough to visit this remarkable place.

It’s beautiful there, with plenty of unspoiled breathtaking scenery. The landscapes are amazingly diverse, too. Between the two main islands and a host of smaller ones, you can find beaches, subtropical forests, rolling green pastures, snow-capped mountains, lakes, volcanoes, and hot springs.

Check Out the Incredibly Diverse Wildlife

New Zealand is like a treasure trove for animal-lovers. There are animal and plant species found in New Zealand that don’t exist anywhere else in the world. If you’re lucky enough, you might spot a kiwi, the flightless bird that has become New Zealand’s national mascot. But if you don’t see one in the wild, you can still see kiwis at selected reserves and zoos, especially in Auckland, Roturua, and Wellington.

The World-Famous Vineyards

Even though New Zealand only makes less than one percent of the world’s wine, it’s famous for the amazing quality of their grapes thanks to the temperate climate and soil diversity. New Zealand is particularly well-known for its Sauvignon Blanc.

Grab a glass (or two) at the island nation’s top-notch restaurants, where local wines are showcased alongside world-class cuisine. Or make a day of visiting wineries for tastings. Otago is known for its Pinot, while Marlborough is known for Sauvignon Blancs.

Get Adventurous

Adventurers and adrenaline junkies rejoice! New Zealand is the adventure capital of the world, and there are a million activities to choose from. Basically, if it can be done outdoors, you’ll find it in New Zealand. Between all the surfing, sailing, kayaking, skiing, parachuting, white water rafting, and zip lining, you’ll never have a dull moment.

Some adventures are unique to New Zealand. Try abseiling in Waitomo to drop over 300 feet into the earth to reach the Lost World. Or better yet, check out the highest bungee jump in New Zealand, Nevis Bungee in Queenstown. Bungee jumping was invented there, after all.
