Who doesn’t love going on a fun vacation to a new city or locale? There’s no better time to travel than Fall. The cool air, the calmer atmosphere, and the smaller crowds make Fall an ideal season for traveling.
When the humidity and temperatures drop, it also makes it that much easier to go on adventures without sweating through all of your clothes! Here are some of our favorite Fall destinations.
Fall Vacations
Charleston, SC
Charleston, South Carolina is a historic and beautiful city to visit any time of year. However, the region can be rather hot and humid in the Summer, so Fall is an ideal time to visit.
The beaches are much less crowded when the kids go back to school, and the air is crisp and refreshing in Autumn. The city’s cobblestone streets and historic buildings make it a fun place to explore.
Charleston is also home to some of the best cooking you’ll find in the US. Southern cuisine is a very unique type of food, and regional favorites like shrimp and grits make for delightful food discoveries when you’re traveling.
If you’re looking to go on a fun, Southern adventure this fall, Charleston should be your destination.
San Francisco
On the other side of the country, we have San Francisco. The West Coast has an entirely different culture than anywhere else on Earth, so if you’ve never been, you owe it to yourself to pay the region a visit.
Frisco is ideal to visit in the Fall, as the huge crowds of summer tourists are gone, and the beautiful California weather is temperate and mild.
There’s so much to do in San Francisco that you’ll likely want to make a detailed itinerary. The only challenge is finding the time to do everything, from visiting the Golden Gate Bridge to riding a cable car over the famous hills.
Asheville, NC
Asheville, North Carolina, is located in the Appalachian Mountains. Its high altitude and naturalistic surroundings make it one of the best places on Earth to see fall foliage. The leaves turn striking colors and the region’s natural beauty is further enhanced.
Try to visit in late October for the best colors! While you’re there, don’t forget to stop in one of the numerous local breweries for a drink.
