Unique and Memorable Marriage Proposal Ideas – Don’t Be Boring!

Getting engaged is going to be one of the most memorable moments in your life. It’s an extremely special moment, both for you and your partner. If you’re hoping to really take it to the next level and make it impressive and unforgettable, all it takes is a little extra planning.

If you’re stuck and are having a hard time coming up with ideas, here are some marriage proposal ideas to help get your creative juices flowing.

Sneak it Into Her Book

This one works best if you’re going to be near your partner when she reads. If possible, purchase a second copy of the book she is currently reading. Hollow out the inside of the book and place the ring inside, and replace her book with the new copy.

Be prepared to pop the question when she opens her book and finds the surprise!

A Nostalgic Box of Memories

Create a box full of memories for your partner. Photos together, objects that hold special meaning, leave little notes or even poems, anything that will remind her of your time together. Tape the ring to a note that asks “will you marry me?” and stick it into an envelope at the very bottom of the box.

Plan a Birthday Party

For her birthday, plan a big party and invite all of her friends and family. Order a cake with your proposal written on it in icing, instead of “happy birthday.” When the cake comes out at the party, propose!

On a Rainy Day

Have a custom puzzle made using a photo of yourselves together and the words “will you marry me?” printed on it. The next time there is a rainy day, or a lazy day that you both feel like staying in, you can suggest doing the puzzle together. Once your partner can make out what the puzzle says, pop the question!

Being Really Obvious

If you’ve got a sense of humor, try this proposal idea on for size. Try figuring out your partner’s ring size in really obvious ways, making her think that you’re trying to be sneaky but aren’t pulling it off at all.

Bring home a ring chart and leave it out somewhere for her to “find,” or talk a lot about ring sizes and then ask if she knows her ring size “you know, just curious.”

When she accuses you of ruining the surprise that you’re shopping for a ring, break out the real engagement ring and tell her to “try this one instead.”

Shout it From the Top of the Mountain

Go for a fun hike with your partner, and ask her to marry you once you’ve reached the top. The view will be spectacular, and will also give you another memorable spot to visit as a couple!

Destination Proposal

Go all out and do a destination proposal. There’s no better time to pop the question than on a romantic getaway trip. There are plenty of opportunities during a trip, like while you’re out for dinner, or taking a stroll on the beach.

But if you want to do something a little different, propose before you ever reach your destination! There’s nothing like asking her to marry you at 35,000 feet, and then you can spend the entire trip celebrating the engagement.

The Most Magical Proposal

If you’ve been dreaming of taking a vacation to the happiest place on earth, it will make one of the most memorable proposal locations ever. Wait until evening, and propose while the fireworks light up the night sky.
